Money Shot Radio has just been moved to a monthly show, now broadcasting (…and podcasting!) on the second Monday of every month. The next show will be July 13, 2009. Thanks to everyone who’s subscribed and provided feedback. And here’s to many more years of Money Shot Radio!
Money Shot Radio broadcasts on every second Monday on protonradio.com. Previously, it’s only been available through the Proton Radio website. But we have just hopped on the podcast bandwagon and extended the availability of these radio shows. Every show will be available as a podcast!
Subscribe to the podcast, and each new show will automatically be sent to your iTunes/iPod, or whatever podcast reader you use. It’s incredibly convenient. You just sit back, and let the tunes roll in, and you listen to it at your leasure - on your iPod, or on your computer.

Money Shot has just left Broadstreet Digital (which has been acquired by Royatly Share) and is currently evaluating options for digital distributors. Once we’re set up with a new distributor, the tunes will be flowing like crazy, so look out for more news here.
Myagi’s debut album has just dropped on his newly formed label, Pop & Lock Recordings. It’s received serious critical acclaim including a glowing 4.5/5 review in DJ Mag. It’s available exclusively in digital format. Check your favourite download retailer such as Beatport, Juno, and DJ Download. Pop & Lock will also be releasing some stellar tunes after the album in a variety of genres such as breaks, downtempo, electro, house, and progressive.

As you might have noticed, Money Shot has been taking a bit of a break lately. But fear not! We haven’t gone anywhere. We’ve got big things planned for a label relaunch in 2009. Even though we haven’t released anything in a while, we’ve been busy signing new artists and preparing our release schedule. Watch this space!
It’s been a while since we’ve released tunes from our good friend Myagi, and considering the massive success he has enjoyed lately, we surely couldn’t let this drought continue for much longer. So we have secured his remixing services for a couple forthcoming Money Shot releases - the first of which is “The Glue” by Maelstrom. The second remix will be announced shortly.
Due to the massive success of Boogie Army’s remix of Infekto’s “The Real Funk”, you know we had to get Boogie Army on board for some more awesomeness. We have been fortunate enough to secure two new tunes from Boogie Army, which follow along the lines of their “The Real Funk” remix - heavy on the funk and electro sounds. These two tunes should be released at the end of 2009.
We have just signed a new single from Break the Box. If you’ve been following breakbeat releases over the past year, his productions will be no stranger to you, and Lovely Friday is one of the funkiest tunes of his yet. There’s also a remix from Basement Freaks. Coming out mid 2009.
It is with great pleasure that I announce Maelstrom joining the Money Shot artist roster. I’ve been a massive fan of his productions ever since his first EP on Jalapeno in 2005, and his productions just keep getting better. This first release will be “The Glue”. He’ll be hooking up for a couple remixes as well, remixing Groove Allegiance’s “Playing Dumb” and another tune to be named later, using his Mr. Strom guise.
AMB - Mechanical is out on vinyl now. Juno has copies among other fine vinyl outlets. The download will be available on all major download sites very shortly (Beatport, Track it Down, DJ Download, etc). Support has been amazing so far, coming from Freestylers, Plump DJs, Santos, Future Funk Squad, Nick Thayer, and many more.
Money Shot has just secured a deal with Broadstreet Digital to exclusively distribute our digital releases. Broadstreet has an excellent roster that includes Lot49, Payback Project, Botchit & Scarper, Lab-Rok, and Punks, amoung others. The first release through Broadstreet will be AMB - Mechanical.
Village Again Records in Japan has just released a mix CD mixed by the one and only Atomic Hooligan. Included on this CD is the Hooligan’s remix of Myagi’s Dirty Girls. I think this CD might only be available in Japan, but you may be able to pick it up on import.
Money Shot has just signed back on board with Z Audio UK, who did a fantastic job distributing MONEY001 - MONEY003 in 2004 & 2005. With the changing market conditions, we will only be putting out a very limited number of vinyl copies to ensure that we sell out fast. Don’t sleep on it!
It’s been a sad week in the land of breakbeat. Intergroove, one of the best vinyl distributors, has just gone out of business. This will likely affect many labels and artists in the industry. Since Intergroove was our exclusive vinyl distributor, Money Shot was one of the labels affected greatly by this, but we will find a way to carry on.
California DJ extraordinaire and Funky Cactus label-owner, Greg J has just put together an extra fine mix CD called Jet Set. This CD includes 37 tracks, many of which are exclusive remixes of pop songs that you will not find anywhere else. He’s licensed two songs from Money Shot’s catalog: the Atomic Hooligan remix of Myagi’s “Dirty Girls”, and Infekto’s “The Real Funk”. The CD is absolutely fantastic! It’s highly recommended.
The Drumattic Twins remix of Steelzawheelz’s Discotron has just been picked up by Australian DJ/producer Bass Kleph for his new Mix CD for InTheMix. The double CD (with a second disc mixed by Hyper) should be out in Australia for the late Spring/early Summer.
That’s right folks, we’ve just gotten on board with one of the best Breaks distributors in the business - Intergroove UK - who also distributes some of Money Shot’s favourite labels, namely Finger Lickin, Kingsize, Jalapeno, Supercharged, TCR, Marine Parade, and more. The first release to go through Intergroove with be MONEY004 (Myagi - Dirty Girls) in Dec 2005.
Money Shot Recordings has just signed a non-exclusive digital distribution deal with IODA (Independent Online Digital Alliance). IODA will be distributing all of Money Shot’s digital releases, and we’re very excited to be a part of their roster! Keep a lookout for some funky fresh Money Shot digital releases at your favourite digital retailer very soon!
