Angus Robinson

Angus Robinson has been a mainstay in the Canadian breaks scene since he first started DJing in 1999. He is perhaps best known as the founder of Money Shot Recordings. Angus started the label in 2004 to create an outlet for up and coming artists to release some of the funkiest breakbeat jams in the world. Since its inception, Money Shot has released tunes from Atomic Hooligan, Drumattic Twins, Maelstrom, Myagi, and many more.

From 2001 - 2008, Angus held a job at the world-renowned Release Records, which for several years was regarded as the premier website to buy dance music vinyl and MP3 downloads. Some of Release Records’ regular customers included Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold, Hybrid, Tiesto, Uberzone, and Steve Lawler. Angus managed the Release Records website, ran the distribution department, and conducted all breakbeat purchasing. Sadly, in 2008 Angus left Release Records to pursue other opportunities.

Over his 10+ year DJ career, Angus has DJed all over Canada, and a few other locations around the world such as USA, China, and Taiwan. He has played gigs alongside massive names like: Adam Freeland, Rennie Pilgrem, Evil Nine, Z-Trip, Way out West, Krafty Kuts, Koma + Bones, Meat Katie, Hybrid, DJ Hyper, General Midi, Atomic Hooligan, Skool of Thought, Ali B, Simply Jeff, and loads more. In 2004 he was voted as the 37th best breakbeat DJ in the world at the Breakspoll Awards.

In 2002, Angus launched Futurized Radio (now called Money Shot Radio), on New York’s protonradio.com, and it instantly became a hit. Money Shot Radio is still broadcasting every other Monday night, and can now be accessed through podcast as well. Money Shot Radio was nominated twice for Best Breakbeat Radio Show at the Breakspoll Awards, and has featured top-notch guests such as Plump DJs, Lee Coombs, Fort Knox Five, Freddy Fresh, Soul of Man, and many more.
